Write four paragraphs to define the term 'physical computing'.
Before thinking about the concepts of physical computing, one can think about how human uses their bodies to express themselves. It is because physical computing basically uses the human body as the centre of the computer, instead of having the computer to function itself.
Physical computing uses the way which humans express themselves physically to design computer technologies that humans use to communicate with each other. Computer applications that use physical computing to design correlate to the limit of the human body. Physical computing studies the signals that human body gives out to control the computer. These signals are read and interpret by the computer and cause the computer to function.
Physical computing has the interest in how the computer applications receive sensors from the human body and the computer transfers the motions into data. Physical computing focuses on the connection of the computer with the human body. It is concern with how the computer take the human's expressions and convert them to function the computer.
Unlike the concept of robotics which uses the computer to duplicate the human brain and sense how it should react at all times, physical computing focuses on using the human brain and human body as the extension of the computer. The computer applications done by physical computing does not replace the function of the human, nor ignore human's expressions at some times.
Here are two links to videos describing new authoring devices for prototyping, which include software and technical information. Write two paragraphs each describing their prototyping methods, and describing what they are enabled to do. (4 paragraphs)
